Did they work here?
Many artists claim they worked here or apprenticed here that did not. If someone tells you they worked here feel free to check with us to be sure they actually did. Lately I've been hearing a lot of rumors that the owner of a new shop that recently opened in Auburn is telling people that he used to work here and that he hates us because of what went on when he worked here. He seems to be quite passionate about his anger towards us. The funny part is he has never worked here! I've never even met him! Why is he saying he worked here? Your guess is as good as mine.
Mystical Creations
Mystical Creations was a shop that was open for a short time in Worcester. They were first located at the Kelly Square Flea Market and then moved to the corner of Main & Chandler. They obviously named themselves as close to us as they could due to our impeccable reputation and huge clientèle. This caused a lot of confusion for the public. They were located directly between the highway and us so our customers would call us to make an appointment and get directions to our studio. They would get off the highway and see Mystical Creations and automatically think it was us. Mystical Creations wasn’t open very long but in that time they sure did a lot of damage to the piercing industry in this area and to us due to the name similarity. So please be aware of this fact if you hear rumors that don’t seem like they are appropriate.
Buzz and Miraculous Creations
I want to clear this up once and for all. Buzz does not own Miraculous Creations, he does not work here or have any association with our shop whatsoever. I (Rose) started Miraculous Creations in 1992 when I was married to Buzz but it was a piercing only shop then. When tattoos were legalized Buzz worked out of Miraculous Creations for 2 months until I bought him out through our divorce. So to any of you that say you don’t come in here because of your feelings about Buzz, he’s not here and hasn’t been since 2000!
Did I (Rose) sell the shop?
No I did not sell Miraculous Creations. I have owned this business since day 1. I remarried on 4-24-05 and I also had a pretty severe ankle injury that will affect me for life. I decided it was time for me to make the move from piercing to running the office. That allowed me to get off my ankle and to start life with my new husband. We bought a house in Maine so I work from there. I made my son Jesse and my husband Phil owners along with me. Phil is a silent partner, I am the managing partner and Jesse is the in-shop manager. We communicate every day via phone, email, IM and fax.
Unprofessional behavior
There is a local shop that continues to falsely advertise many untruths. I guess they feel they don’t have enough truth to tell to impress you so they resort to telling you things that trick you into going to them. They say they have the largest body jewelry selection when in reality they don’t carry ¼ of what we carry. We truly are New England’s largest body jewelry store. They also tell you their artists are the most experienced and best trained. Ooops! Another little fib on their part. They repeatedly tell you they were the first shop in Worcester even though we opened a couple of months before them. In an attempt to prevent you from visiting us they spread untrue rumors about us so you will stay there and get your work done without checking us out. Now that’s not very nice to you or us. If they feel so confident in their work they should let that stand for itself instead of relying on embarrassing behavior. Every industry suffers by childish unprofessional behavior. We have contacted this shop numerous times over the years and tried to form a truce and possibly an alliance. Hope appears briefly and promises are made but unfortunately they do not last. There is plenty of business for everyone to make a decent living and not have to be mean or lie to get it.
I won’t return the behavior. What I will do is ask you to visit the local shops and choose the one that you feel the most comfortable with. There is no one shop that’s right for every single person. Your choice should be based on truth, knowledge and confidence. |
